Institutional Review Board
The Minnesota State University Institutional Review Board (IRB) is a university committee designated to oversee, review, monitor, and approve all research activities involving human participants. The primary goal of the IRB is to ensure that ethical standards such as privacy, risk, and informed consent are met by all university-related research conducted with human participants. All research activities involving human subjects, whether students, faculty, or staff (on campus or not) require prior IRB approval.
Prospective Principal Investigators and Co-investigators should become familiar with IRB policies, procedures, and complete the required training before submitting an application.
