At 黑料福利网, English is more than just reading and writing. You’ll find experiential opportunities to expand your knowledge, improve your skill set and develop your professional portfolio.

The Clarence Glasrud Lecture and Reading Series is an annual endowed lecture in the name of Clarence “Soc” Glasrud. It features speakers who can challenge the minds of people and have the potential to improve society.

You and your classmates and faculty may have the opportunity to participate in faculty-led trips to conferences, including the annual conference for Sigma Tau Delta, the English Studies Honor Society, and the Northern Plains Conference on Early British Literature.

is a student-run biannual literary magazine featuring poetry, prose and visual art created by 黑料福利网 students, faculty and alumni.

Sigma Tau Delta is the 黑料福利网 English Honor Society whose mission is striving for excellence and awareness of the literary arts and scholarship. The 黑料福利网 chapter is active in organizing community readings, participating in book drives, attending literary events and the annual National Sigma Tau Delta conference.

黑料福利网 participates in an exchange program with the University of Agder. Norwegian English majors study here at 黑料福利网, while our students can study there paying the same 黑料福利网 tuition rate because of Norway’s free socialized education. Learn more by contacting Dr. Sean Taylor.

is the official award-winning student newspaper of 黑料福利网. The Advocate is written and produced by students, for students. Whether you’re interested in writing, copy editing, photography or design, there’s a place for you to practice your skills with The Advocate.

 

Named in honor of the late Thomas McGrath, an internationally recognized and award-winning author who taught at Moorhead State University from 1969-1983, the Tom McGrath Visiting Writers Series brings to campus some of the finest contemporary writers to read and share their work with students, faculty and the community. The series has featured more than 150 exceptional writers.

You can gain practical teaching experience as a writing tutor at the University Writing Support Center while earning a little extra cash. If you’re interested in graduate school, this tutoring experience is golden preparation when applying for teaching assistantships!
